Heineken Opener Festival won prestigious award for Best Major Festival among such giants like Glastonbury, Rock Werchter and Roskilde. European Festival Awards in Groningen are the most important European festival awards granted by Yourope, Eurosonic Noorderslag and Virtual Festivals Europe.

The FETA festival was established in 1997 originally as a one-off venture, with the aim of being an extravagant celebration to commemorate the thousand years of Gdańsk. For 7 days the city was transformed beyond recognition – numerous theatres from all over the world entertained, provoked, but also moved the citizens of Gdańsk and many tourists. Street theatres, full of their charm and magic were unforgettable, and the actors enchanted spectators.

The Artus Court
The Artus Court was given its present shape in 1477, following the fire that had destroyed the previous 14th century building on the site. The facade was transformed by Abraham van den Blocke. The Mannerist doorway is adorned with royal portraits. The Court's elegant interior hides a huge, 12 metre high, Renaissance tiled stove, a mid-16th. masterpiece by George Stelzener.

The Main Hall of the City
It was built between 1379 and 1492. The spire over the 80m high tower, put up by master Dirk Daniels from New Zealand, is crowned with a gilded metal figure of King Sigismund Augustus. The three wings of the building around the yard were completed in 1593-96. The interior is decorated in the Dutch Mannerist style.

The Crooked House
On Monte Cassino Street, built in 2003. There are pubs, restaurants and shops inside. Tired tourists can step inside and rest in a restaurant or bar, hidden from the sun, and have a cold drink. There is also the Pomeranian Museum of Modern Marine Craft on the third floor.
