Buses and trams in Gdańsk

In Gdańsk there are time tickets, i.e. a ticket for PLN 1.40 is valid on a bus or a tram for 10 minutes after its validation. If your journey takes more than 10 minutes and if you prefer not to deal with a ticket inspector, it is better to validate 2 tickets at once, which is enough for a half an hour journey. You can also buy a 24 hour ticket for PLN 9.10 and travel all over Gdańsk for one day and night. Transport of baggage in a bus is free-of-charge, provided its longest dimension does not exceed 60cm. If the longest dimension of baggage is within 60-90cm, you have to validate a full ticket. The Rules and Regulations prohibit transport of baggage larger than 90cm. Tickets are available at almost every 'kiosk'.

The fast local train (SKM)

The fast local train (SKM) is the quickest means of transport in theTri-city. When you buy a ticket in the ticket office you should know your destination - a friendly lady will sell you the right ticket. It has to be validated before you get on a train - ticket punchers are located on platforms or next to entrances. Trains run on the route Gdańsk - Sopot - Gdynia 24 hours a day; during the day every 5-10 minutes.
