FOREIGN TOURIST EMERGENCY LINE
In order to assist foreign tourists visiting our country, on 1st June 2005 the Polish Tourist Organization in cooperation with the Main Police Headquarters started the Tourist Emergency Line (TEL) - an emergency telephone service for foreign tourists.
On the following numbers:
0 800 200 300 (a free line, available with land lines but not with mobile phones)
+48 608 599 999 (a free line, available with all types of phones)
foreigners can receive assistance in emergencies, if the existing assistance system is insufficient.
In "standard" situations the service provides callers with telephone numbers of competent services: police, ambulance service, fire service, emergency road service or tourist information.
Operators cooperate closely with the National Officer on Duty at the Police HQ.
As a rule this line is not aimed at replacing the existing services (police, fire service or emergency service) or to function as a tourist information line.
