The Slovincian Coast - a land of sand hills On the Slovincian Coast, between Łeba and Rowy, is the biggest stretch of shifting dunes in Europe. These sand hills have been included in the UNESCO list of World Biosphere Reserves. Their location, size and shape are constantly changing, depending on the wind force and amount of sand thrown inland by the sea. It’s a must to climb to the top of the highest peak of these moving dunes, Łącka Hill (Góra Łącka) (approx. 45m above sea level); from where there’s a wonderful view. You can have a lot of interesting experiences including the so-called singing sand - under the wind’s influence, the sand swirls around making a sound which closely resembles singing. The Slovincian National Park is also included in the international RASMAR convention, which is involved in the protection of habitats of water birds and waders. A great attraction of this region are the huge flocks of crane, which have the biggest colonies in the country here. It’s possible to organise walks and bike rides, swim in the sea or the lakes, ride horses and sail. It’s also worth visiting Smołdzino, where the Slovincian National Park Museum is located and to climb the highest point in the area – Rowokol (a glacial mound). Another huge attraction could be one of the most beautiful ethnographic parks in the country, which is found at Kluki, where there is a reconstructed ancient Slovincian village. You can admire the wonderful scenery from the two lighthouses in the area at Czołpino and Stilo. Recommended tours Chosen tourist routes
