Gdynia The history of Gdynia begins in 1918. The city was built in a short period of time, (15 years), thanks to great Polish architects. During the Second World War the city was destroyed by German occupation forces. When the war ended, the city was rebuilt very fast and it is now one of the biggest Polish marine ports.
